Day 26: Johnson City to Kerrville
Good days ride from Johnson City to our warmshowers hosts Janice and Fred in Kerrville. A nice 72 mile day.
Again, we have been blown away by the hospitality of our hosts over this trip. We have been fed, we got showers, and are now about to sit down and watch the NCAA Championship game over a few beers... More details to come in my later posts.
Glad you got to watch the NCAA final! Heck of a game although I do think Shabaz Napier could learn a thing or two from you on how to shoot a floater in the lane. Keep safe out there Homer. The tuck and role is something only Melino can relate to and also I'm sure McCall would have loved it out in Johnson city as long as they had icy hot. I have a few questions...what kind of food are you eating during the day when you are on your long stretches? Granola? Dried fruit? Is there anything you need on your trip? Have any fellow riders had similar issues with snakes or dogs? Keep writing man! Love your work.
Yo man, sorry for the late response on this one... The day after you asked about this I posted a typical lunch on IG... Normally do pb&j sandwiches, some fruit if we can find a market, then granola bars and power bar type deals... Try to get close to 800-1000 calories to fuel us on for the rest of the day. Don't need anything but thanks for asking.. Love getting the comments and hearing that people are enjoying the posts... It's been tough with getting cell coverage out here in west Texas, but I should be getting another post up tomorrow with a bunch of new pics..
I just might have nightmares about that last craggy tree
